Welcome to my lifestyle of learning blog....

This blog is my attempt to gather together information concerning lifestyle learning and homeschooling that is or has been helpful to me. It is also a place to record educational activities and pictures. I wish I would have had the idea before now... it would have been nice to have had a record of our lifestyle of learning journey. So if you are considering using a blog as a record of your ongoing education and homeschooling years, don't wait to do it... do it now. It can be fun to scratch that creative itch... but a word of warning... it can also be VERY time consuming.

Uncle Eric Book Series

In the day that we live in... the economic distress and the world unrest,  Uncle Eric Book Series by Richard Mayburywould be the perfect family read-a-louds.  This series is recommended as a Middle School reading text, but it is a wholesome education in History/Civics/Economics/Finance and so on for any age.

The first time I heard about the series was in one of our Sonlight Curriculum Packages.  That particular year the book,  "Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? A Fast, Clear, and Fun Explanation of the Economics You Need For Success in Your Career, Business, and Investments" was included to read as a read-aloud.  It's about economics and is a remarkably easy and fun explanation of investment cycles, velocity, business cycles, recessions, inflation, the demand for money and more.  It made for fun and interesting discussions about a usually difficult subject.  We still retain much of the information introduced to this day. Highly recommend!

As we continued to Homeschool, we explored a few others of the book series briefly, but was never able to get everything we wanted out of them and didn't finish the complete series.  We, as adults, are NOW working our way through a review of them and reading the ones that we missed along the way.  The author shares amazing insight and what seems to be, at times, a "prophetic" analysis of the world we live in!

Do yourself and your family a favor and read this series!
